AIRSTIM™ System

Test avoidance learning by motivating an animal’s normal sensory pathways

The SDI AIRSTIM system is an alternative method for delivering an US. Instead of delivering an electric current to the animal's central nervous system, AIRSTIM provides air puff stimulation to the animals sensory pathways. Stimulation is delivered as a series of air puffs by adjusting the timing controls to set the duration of each puff and inter-puff interval. This is freestanding version of the Air Puff stimulation unit used in the SDI Gemini System. The researcher can use this freestanding system to deliver air puffs where appropriate for the behavioral test being run.
